| Nothing ever worked for this. Back in EOR it was called "Love Books" I disliked Jeff's version but kept the title and rewrote it. It still sucked. It was the last song just hanging there. I'm anxious to get this project done and we've got nothing. The music drove Jeff nuts. It was too happy. I agree but back in EOR people wanted to dance so I wrote this song that just worked for that attitude. Plus it used my slap harmonic technique which is cool with me no matter how gay it "really" sounds. Finally I said to Jeff, I'm going to write 3 lines and that's it, all you have to do is sing those three line and I'll sample it up from there. Again it didn't work but those three lines are the first three in the final version. When Jeff gets bored he screws around and thus came up with the preacher melody. We decided it needed more lines so I came up with the completed version and after some warm up he nailed it. From there found some old preacher sound tracks. I was picky in that I didn't want it to speak overtly to religion in general though it's obvious the Miracle Man is Jesus. All the preacher samples are simply upbeat. The last segment about " not wanting to preach but that's okay", man that's just perfection for the song. |

What can I say that Master Mody hasn't already said for me?
Hmmmmm...
...Again, I thank Tom for turning this one into a fun song to work with. I used to do this kind of thing in rehearsal every once in a while with regard to the southern Baptist preaching. Yes, rehearsal did get boring every once in a while, so Jeffrey in the typical way vocalists can sometimes do, would decide to spice it up a little and annoy others. And of course, Tom, always the serious one in rehearsal, was always annoyed when I did so. However, I know he was laughing on the inside. You get the picture. So now I am left wondering...who actually has the last laugh?
