Drifting across the wavy sands. In the twilight of the moment. Leaving all thoughts you have behind. Now falling ever deeper.

As sure as dark surrounds me, the light just fills my mind. Taking over my life functions, as I close my eyes are swollen shut. The cold lays at my feet. As I feel the wind pass through me, still my body lies. All alone I hear the souls in the distance screaming my name.

Down in the bottom of a pit. Lost inside the bedroom jungle. All time has lost it's meaning. Now you've become the trip.

This F'ing song!!!

Heavy Dreams was a song recorded in '94 by our band Archivon and as noted previously it was my intention to re-record those '94 songs as a starting point for this CD. I thought this would be the center piece on the whole damn album but everything thing I did couldn't save this track. I actually did over 100 mixes, I recorded guitar a bass over and over and over. I made Jeff grudgingly redo vocals almost 2 years after laying down his first tracks. I had a friend come in and mix the song to no avail. It doesn't deserve to be on here even as a bonus track except for the fact that Jeff inadvertantly challenged me to write an acoustic version... which I did and it came out great so that's in the main song order of this album. Because of that we felt it would be cool to include the "heavy" version as a bonus so here it is at the end of the line and lucky to be there!

I think I like Heavy Dreams again now that there is HDA (Heavy Dreams Acoustic). I like the contrast since we made the song different from its original version in the acoustic piece. It's kind of cool to go back and listen to the original version after reviewing the "new improved" acoustic version. For some reason, when I review it now (the original), it doesn't seem as poor as I had thought it was. Also, I had forgotten that Tom & I added some vocal dynamics to the song here and there for this version which differed from its root version. I almost...ALMOST mind you, feel bad for Tom in his quest of 1000 re-recordings and mixes to get it right. Nah, I rescind.
