My child.
I know you have many questions.
Questions of how to move forward in this limited life.
Questions of existing beyond the space you now occupy in this grand universe.
Do not feel forsaken.
As a child must trust in his father for all things, so you must grant me that same faith.
You must realize that answers would only complete your journey.
However, it is the questions that make you alive.
I know that the first steps can be the most difficult.
In My infinite love for you I will answer the question to your most pressing need in starting this journey.
So please take heed.

The micro chip ignition card which activates you transwarp saucer has been misplaced in you anteni sock drawer. It is located under the silver microfiber garment. The one with the pink lace pattern of the Orion Star Cluster. You would be wise not to misplace this again.

Be well my child and go in peace.

I'd had the idea of doing this early on in the process but waited a while to execute it. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Jeff listen to this for the first time. Surely at first he was thinking "here's another overly self indulgent rediculous idea from Tom that I have to question". But once the punch line came in his grin said it all. The album and particularly the last song Peace of Hell was such a big, deep journey I needed to come back to the fact the we are The United Dictators of Mars and by name we aren't trying to take ourselves too seriously. So you think that in theme with the album God is going to finish this opus off by telling us the meaning of life or something grand. But the stupid martians have lost the keys to the space ship and he's just clueing them in to where they are. (In truth though that's St. Anthony's job). Hopefully playing the voice of God won't go to my head. Actually, a bigger reason for doing this short segment was that we knew there might be bonus tracks on the album and this is a nice buffer between the "official" album songs and any extras we wanted to include. On the last album I just put 2 tracks of 30 second empty tracks before the "hidden" track Goatman since it was more a spoof than a legit song. Here the spoof is the buffer. If you want to know what subtly makes the piece work comically is that the low rumbling of heavens grandure stops when he delivers the punch line and picks up again as the piece closes. Without that it's not as funny.

I really dig the intro to this song and then when the whole band kicks in it's like an explosion. I had fun singing on this one. The music is the best that Tom has ever recorded. The lyrics may have sucked but the vocal melody was incredible.

Okay, so I am injecting humor toward one Tom Mody, i.e. poking fun at Tom. Just like he said in his liner notes...I was ok with what was happening until I was just on the verge of thinking "all right Tom, are ya kidding me...I'm getting bored..." And then the punch line which I did not expect made it all worth while. Tom's witty humor injected at the end clinched it for me. We joke around a lot in the studio which is something which helps break the monotony often and it was refreshing to see that spill over into this collection so that people don't have the idea that we are into ourselves as if we thought we were rock stars or something. How's that for a run-on sentence?
