As the years now swiftly pass I know what lies ahead of me, the inevitable. Time has come to use these wings, fly to new horizons.. When I leave this place I'll know I've lived and I have learned. I will bide my time. Time has come and time has gone, now I'll shed these wings, fly away.

In the distance I hear voices from my past. Inside my head they come to haunt me. A gentle whisper tells me I must carry on. Carry on and fill the void.

I now know when I awake at night the cries I hear, no one ever hears.
And all along I've kept it all inside. The pain I feel, no one knows.

The studio version is from Harbinger "the Inevitable". I always felt a sense of accomplishment when this song was done. It's just full of alot of traps musically. None of the parts repeat, there's harmony guitar basically through the entire song. Because I wrote all the guitar pieces I know Todd was probably not as comfortable playing all my signatures and phrasing so you just felt relief and gratification at the end as Jeff, Todd and myself would kneel down at stage front while playing the final outro piece.

VFTP. A song which will always be one of my favorites... minus the long intro. I think half the intro would have sufficed. I know Tom disagrees vehemently with me but I am entitled to my opinion just as he. In my opinion, for what it's worth, the intro to the spiced version, VOTP, is more suitable to the song. But let’s forget about that and let sleeping dogs lie. It's a shame the bass lines were too difficult for Billy to sing the harmonies and doubles. I believe this would have made the song more dynamic had he been able. All in all, a very well put together song which was kind of cool to pull off live singing over clean guitar and then harmonies which then crescendo's into melodic heaviness. It was kind of surreal walking along the stage looking out at people while singing this song as it progressed through each stage. It seems surreal just thinking about it now in flashback.

Tom's Rebuttle: Dogs will not lie or sleep!!! The intro RULES!!
