Imagine storms without rain, imagine sky with no sun. Our future's grim now what shall we become. Why has it come down to this.

I remember waking to eastern sunrise. As I opened my eyes I could see everything so clearly. We must restore the sun, we must purify the rain. And return those amber waves of grain.

Behold the child with no eyes, how could he realize. When all is dark still he sees what we've done. Why has it come down to this.

I remember watching the western sunset.
It was something I'll never forget. I miss it so dearly.

Bestow upon us the light and grant us the wisdom we need. To guide the way and keep the spirit alive. Before it's too late, wake up. Don't destroy the earth. What's it worth to you? You can start anew.

This song had yet to be recorded in studio on the Archivon '93 sessions and it was getting a good workthru in rehersal and shows. By this recording it would go down just as it sounds here but a touch slower unlike this live pace.

What a refreshing song compared to others we were performing at the time. It has a nice rhythm to it with chord progressions which are easy on the ears. I really like the guitar harmonies in the verse breaks as well as the bass line. Regarding the vocalists point of view, one will note that I used this writing style often during this time period. I like weaving from future tense to past tense to present tense in different sequences. It's a rather unique method I have developed over time to set myself apart from others. This is my "green" song. I am not a lobbyist for the environment, nor am I an environmentalist. I am a conservationist, an outdoorsman. It would be a travesty if our children and their children etc. are unable to experience life as we know it. Living in a bubble does not bode well with me especially when thinking of my family and future generations.
